NEXT Worldwide is working in a cluster of South Asian islands that are completely unreached, meaning they are less than 2% evangelical Christian. In the Islands (unofficial title) no religion other than Islam is legally allowed.

Almost 1,000 years ago Islam was forced upon the nationals, but today people find safety and identity in being Muslim. Most islanders rely on family members or leaders in their community to dictate their beliefs and very few are knowledgeable about their own religion. For many years, islanders were kept separated from tourists in order to protect their Muslim foundation. Many still remain isolated on remote islands and live in fear of foreigners.

NEXT partners with a ministry in the Islands engaging the islanders through English classes and chronological Bible-storying to hopefully see the first church in the history of this nation established.
