We want you to be as prepared as possible going into your trip. Below is a standard packing list to get you started! Your Mission Leader will let you know of specific needs for your trip and where this standard list will be altered.
Luggage/Essentials:
- 1 Suitcase (50lb limit) and 1 Backpack/Carry-on*
- Passport (for international trips)
- Spending Money
- Small amount for snacks, souvenirs, etc.
- Meals on travel days (the trip price covers all meals from the time you arrive at your mission location to the time you depart)
*Mandatory Carry-On Contents:
- Passport and Passport Copy (for international trips)
- One full change of clothing/essential toiletries
- Prescription Medications
- Catalyst Leadership Workbook and pen
- One set of Keys to the Kingdom gospel communication tool
PLEASE NOTE: TSA requires ALL carry-on liquids must be in a 3 oz. (or less) container and all in ONE clear, quart-sized plastic storage bag. Larger items may be packed in your checked luggage.
Personal Needs:
- Good walking shoes (closed-toed) for ministry days
- Weatherproof jacket and/or rain poncho
- Snacks of choice (granola, nuts, gum, candy, etc...)
- Towel/Washcloth
- Shower Shoes (flip-flops)

Girls
- Travel/Hotel/Leadership Training: shorts, sweats, t-shirts are allowed
- Ministry Sites: jeans/capris (no holes), skirts (below the knee), t-shirts
- Church Services: jeans/capris (no holes), skirts (below the knee), t-shirts
- Not allowed at any time: short shorts, mini-skirts, Soffe shorts, spaghetti strap tanks, tube tops and halter tops
- Some cultures dress even more conservatively. We will defer to the preference of the church leaders with whom we are working.
Guys
- Travel/Hotel/Leadership Training: shorts, sweats, t-shirts
- Ministry Sites: jeans/cargos/shorts (no holes), t-shirts
- Church Services: jeans/pants (no holes), collared shirt (no t-shirts)
- Not allowed at any time: tank tops, sleeveless/cropped shirts
- Some cultures dress even more conservatively. We will defer to the preference of the church leaders with whom we are working.

- Prescription Medications – Make sure all are in pharmacy labeled prescription bottles. Let your group's leader know about your prescription medications. NEXT is not responsible for keeping up with your medication.

We recommend you present a small, inexpensive gift to your translators and/or nationals you befriend. (Recommendation: Bring 1 male gift, 1 female gift).
