In the Yucatan Peninsula of Mexico, NEXT's primary partnership is with Wayne and Shelly Campbell. The Campbells moved to Mexico over nine years ago from the North Texas area to start a seminary to train pastors called to plant churches and leaders called to full time ministry. Since the Campbells have been there, they have had nearly 50 churches started by pastors who have graduated from their program.
Now they, along with NEXT, are moving their efforts into a cluster of pueblos (small towns) about 300 km from Cancun. There we will have the privilege of helping plant several churches all across the region, reaching both Mexicans as well as Mayans. Starting in a larger pueblo, Jose Maria Morelos, NEXT will begin our strategy by establishing a hub where other local Christians, pastors, and leaders to come worship together.
