 NEXT began working with Joe and Daniel in 2006 near the capital of Nairobi. Since 2009, NEXT has shifted its focus to the Kenyan south coast in the cities of Shimoni, Mombasa, and Ukunda. As there is a definite demographic of Muslims all across Kenya, NEXT has worked primarily among two Muslim tribes called the Digo and Duruma and encourage new churches that are starting in heavily Islamic areas.
