Matt Beaver
Mission Leader // Director of Church Planting
Matt was 13 years old at youth camp when God called him into full time ministry. Years later, God led him to become a youth pastor where he used his gifts in encouraging students to know the Lord. When Matt was 24, on a mission trip to Costa Rica, God spoke to him about being involved in missions and specifically about leading students on mission trips.
Matt attended Samford University and Beeson Divinity School and has 10+ years of pastoral experience. His passion is to introduce students to our missional God and his global purpose. God has also given Matt a heart for working with church-planters around the world to plant new churches where a gospel witness currently does not exist. At NEXT, Matt is able to combine both callings of his heart and fulfill the mission to which God has called him.
Matt and his wife, Noelle live in Fort Worth.

Warren Samuels
Mission Leader // President
Just before his 50th birthday, Warren heard Josh McDowell make an urgent plea to this generation of leaders to reach the next one. Josh’s warning painted a vivid picture of what could happen if we don’t engage them in God’s mission now. God began stirring Warren’s heart for how he could impact the next generation long after he was gone. He gave Warren the vision of introducing students to a missional God who demands missional living every day through short-term church planting mission trips and leadership training.
Through 33 years of pastoral ministry in the local church and at Global Missions Fellowship, God was preparing Warren to launch NEXT Worldwide and encourage the NEXT team to be most effective in reaching the next generation. Through NEXT, Warren is able to declare the glory of God to students and the nations, impact the next generation and advance God’s kingdom.

Wes Searcy
Mission Leader // Vice President
As a young student pastor at Riverside Church in Denver, Wes’ pastor, Rick Ferguson came back from a missions conference and shared a biblical and statistical perspective about the spread of the gospel to the unreached peoples of the world that shook his worldview.
What was so concerning was that neither he, nor the other staff had this kind of teaching and information given to them before! This raised a series of questions that continue to drive Wes’ passion today: “If the mission of displaying His glory and calling worshipers from every nation is so central to who God is, to what He is doing, and to what He is calling us to do – and we as pastors are not even hearing this – how many more are not being exposed to this vital teaching and information?! What if we could ‘fill the mission pipeline’ by exposing students to the missional heart of God via church planting missions and missional leadership training? What if we then unleashed students to join God to ‘Live the Mission’ where He leads them, whether at home or around the world?”
God used this ‘catalytic moment,’ together with multiple international mission trips and 21 years of experience on church staff in student, associate and executive pastor roles, to prepare Wes to help launch NEXT Worldwide.
Wes and his wife, Colleen have two boys, Sam and Tate, and live in Flower Mound, Texas.
