BOOK YOUR TRIP!

From inception, one of the guiding values of NEXT Worldwide has been to serve you, the group ministry leader, by providing a turnkey mission experience for you and your group. Your NEXT Worldwide Mission Leader will take care of every logistical element of your mission trip from mission-site preparation… to airline tickets… to ministry tools… to bottled water on the field. We want you to be able to do what you signed up to do: minister with and to your group!

Just follow these 10 simple steps, and then let us serve you and your students by taking care of the rest of the details.

Step 1: FIND A TRIP

Submit a Trip Request Form or contact a NEXT Mission Leader to learn more and to determine the best location and date for your trip. Usually 12-15 months prior to your desired trip. (This could be closer based on trip availability and the group’s flexibility of dates and locations)

Step 2: RESERVE YOUR SPACE

Return your signed Group Agreement along with your Group Deposit to reserve your group’s space for your desired trip. The group deposit is $50 (domestic trips) or $100 (international trips) per space you desire to reserve. Group agreements and deposits must be returned at least 2 weeks prior to your desired SPIM date.

Step 3: SET A DATE FOR YOUR SPIM

Determine the best day and time for your Student & Parent Info Meeting (SPIM) Usually 6-9 months prior to your trip departure date.

  Part of providing a full-service mission experience includes helping you as a group leader in promoting and mobilizing your group. One of the difficulties in mobilizing students is obtaining the trust needed from parents to give them the confidence to send their kids to another part of the world. In order to help earn this trust, NEXT begins the mobilization process with a Student Parent Informational Meeting (SPIM). We will come to your church or host a SKYPE meeting where we can share information about your trip location, the ministry partnership there, the logistics of registering and fundraising, and answer any questions related to the upcoming trip.  We see a high correlation between the number of people who attend a SPIM and the number of students who end up registering for and participating in a trip.

Step 4: PROMOTE THE TRIP

Promote your trip and personally invite others to join you with a focus on strong participation in the Student & Parent Info Meeting (SPIM). Download promotional tools here.

Step 5: RECRUIT TRIP PARTICIPANTS & LEADERS

Recruit adult leaders to go on the trip and attend the SPIM. (1 adult for every 5 participants of each gender under age 18)

Step 6 HOST THE SPIM:

Host the SPIM. Then, keep the registration and payment deadlines in front of your parents and students, and encourage them in the support raising process as they use the tools given by NEXT.

Step 7: SET PRE-TRIP TRAINING DATES

Put your Pre-Trip Training dates on the calendar. Get the dates on your students and parents calendars early. Stress the importance of great spiritual and practical preparation. Your NEXT Worldwide Mission Leader will deliver prep supplies to you and will walk you through how to use the Pre-Trip Training videos which can be found here. All Pre-Trip training sessions should be completed at least 2 weeks prior to the trip departure date.

Step 8: FACILITATE THE PROVIDED PRE-TRIP TRAINING SESSIONS

Lead Pre-Trip Mission Training. Don’t let students, parents and adult leaders treat it as an option. Lead them to make this a high priority to both meet and prepare. Encourage, encourage, encourage your mission team in their spiritual and practical preparation!

Step 9: HOST A FINAL PRE-TRIP MEETING

10-14 days before the trip host the Pre-Trip meeting for trip participants and parents. NEXT will provide all the information and final trip supplies to get your group on the field. A NEXT Worldwide Mission Leader can lead the meeting live or via Skype, depending on location. Final Pre-Trip Meetings should be scheduled 10-14 days prior to the trip.

Step 10: SHOW UP AT THE AIRPORT WITH YOUR GROUP

Day of the Trip Departure! Head out on mission! Make sure your group is at the airport on time (if flying). Let the NEXT staff serve you this week as you minister.
