Eli Larios

The Mayan civilization flourished in Guatemala during the first millennium A.D.. Because of that influence many people in Guatemala consider themselves Mayan first and Guatemalan second. Guatemala is rich in culture and diversity. There are over 23 distinct languages other than Spanish spoken in Guatemala, but Spanish is the primary language.

NEXT Worldwide partners with national coordinators Eli Larios and Jose Mazariegos to train leaders and plant churches in and around Guatemala City, Antigua and Chimaltenango. Eli, Jose, and a team of planters are working on the frontlines of planting churches throughout Guatemala, primarily where there is little or no gospel presence.

Great impact...

“It was one of the most impactful weeks of my life.”

Goal: To help the local mission...

“I loved working with a local pastor. We were there to help the local mission and not just change things to make them ‘American.’”

Kendall, Adult Leader

Overwhelmed and Amazed...

“On our first full day in Guatemala, we went to a church service and worshiped. I was so overwhelmed with the Holy Spirit that I couldn’t stop smiling and was amazed at the two languages pouring themselves out. God has a giant plan for me and He deserves my whole life devoted to Him”

Missions is My Calling...

“A woman was possessed and had been shunned by the church previously. Through Daniel Bran, the Holy Spirit came into her and we watched as the Lord did incredible work in her. I realized missions is my calling. God called us to go make disciples, not just believers. I know it’s my job to tell …

Hope, Joy, & New Life...

“I shared the gospel with Fabiola who was a Jehovah’s Witness, and she accepted Christ. It gave me so much joy and hope for San Juan del Obisbo. I have realized the joy that comes through doing God’s work and making disciples.”
