What are high school students passionate about these days? Family?
Friends? Reputation? Most students are passionate about making a name
for themselves. At NEXT Worldwide, our passion is helping high school
students to make a name for Christ instead.
An Epiphany...
When I was five years old, I hated tomatoes. One summer, my mom gave me 4 or 5 tomato plants and put me in charge of their care.
After several months of nurturing, watering and caring for these tender tomato plants, tomatoes became my favorite vegetable (or is it a fruit?).
Was it my taste buds or my perspective that changed? A change in perspective can create a change in passion. While all teenagers are passionate about something, very few are passionate about the local New Testament church.
Our desire is to create opportunities for teenagers to join God in planting new churches in places where no churches exist today.
Our prayer is that by allowing teenagers to be a part of the planting and nurturing process, they will catch God's heart for missions and fall in love with the local church, much like I did with tomatoes! We want them to start asking, "What does God have NEXT for me?"
I am confident that, like me, you have a passion for investing a part of your life in the next generation.
Like planting a seed, the more you invest in the mission development of youth, the more chance you have for growth, fruit and future harvest.
